Here is a YouTube video interview with DBR as he talks with CoolCleveland.com about his past work, work with The Gilgamesh Project and his Symphony on the Dance Floor show. Be sure to keep an eye on the workers behind him! Both myself and Drew Veres are setting up microphones for the choir that would soon enter the studio.
Project Gilgamesh Weekend 1
by Dave Towne on Sep.17, 2011, under audio
Finishing up Weekend 1 of recording for Project Gilgamesh @ Tri-C. On Friday, we recorded basic rhythm tracks with Drums, Bass, Piano and Guitar. The Fortune Drum Set sounded awesome and the freshly tuned piano was gorgeous. Saturday we did some solo voice and the choir voices for most of the first 8 songs. Wrapping up Sunday will be some more choir and solo voice for more tracks. To read more about the project, check out http://www.projectgilgamesh.com/. Below are some pics of me in the control room getting some sounds.
Avid Webinar Archives
by Dave Towne on Sep.03, 2011, under audio
I subscribe to the Avid Spotlight Newsletter and often get offers to attend or watch Webinars with very successful engineers talking about specific products or about what it is they do. Unfortunately I am never available when the Webinars occur, so I miss out on great discussions and useful information constantly. That is until I discovered Avid actually keeps an archive of their Webinars and they are currently free and open to the public. The archives I have found are for their Live Sound Webinars, but a little more digging may produce a studio or other other of interest. From my bookmarks to yours, here are the Avid Live Sound Webinar Archives.
